Over at How to Geek, they’ve created a pretty nifty WordPress plugin that will work on your dashboard (much like Google Mail… which they used as the basis of this plugin).  This plugin will alert you when someone has commented on your blog. I’m not sure if it’s an exclusive - 1 blog plugin sort of thing or if you can have multiple blogs.
I’m not sure I’ll be using it any time soon - since I’m finding myself already WAY TO DISTRACTED with stats, posts, rss feeds and all that stuff. But if you like to be notified as soon as someone has commented, this might be what you’re looking for.
… um to call this a plugin… I’m not sure if I’m using the right term - but it will alert you to comments on your computer much like Google Mail does.
Check out the nifty WordPress Comment Alert thingy here.

Last night I worked on another WordPress template for another fan site I’m working on. This site, is one that I’ve got working with a friend - who is also a fan :) So I think working with my friend will definitely help bounce ideas and thoughts and the direction the site should go in - it’s just nice to sit face to face with someone who’s just as interested and excited about the project as I am!
Last night I put together my new WordPress template - and it took less time than this one did. I’m learning! LOL. It’s based on the same sort of layout - so I think I’ve learned a few things putting this one together that really helped speed things up with the new template I’ve built. I have to say though - I’m still working out the understanding of CSS - I knew the basics… but this is much more than I’ve ever done - or ever thought I could do. It’s fun to learn something new and create new things that I didn’t think that I could. It’s all baby steps, but I’m learning and I’m really enjoying it… go figure! I thought it would be so painful to learn, but it isn’t so bad… hehe.
With my new design - I just want to let you know that there are 2 slots available on the Featured Sponsor spot in the header of this site. It’s shown on all pages and I think it’s a steal of a deal. I wanted my featured sponsors more prominent on the site, because you’re paying your hard-earned cash on it. I’d love to see you here!
Check out the rate here.
Since I’ve been busy working on 3 new templates in the matter of a week and a half, now I’ve got to go back and start working on some content for the sites :) Ahhhh… good times. I guess in a way I’ve got off the affiliate marketing chatter, and it’s time I get back into the swing of things, although design is never that far away from my next little project.

You may have found a link to this site floating around on your Dashboard in WP. WP Zipper seems to be a bit of a godsend when you are trying to find those plugins for WP and if you’re anything like me - and not too good at keeping things organized on your harddrive or misplace them in 5 different folders, because at the time leaving them there seemed like such a good idea, but now you can’t find them… well, even if you’re super organized… you might want to to check out this site where you can add plugins to your download folder and zip them up and send them to yourself.
All of this… FREE.

I’m not sure if it’s just my RSS reader, but even though I’ve got this site’s articles as “summary” it still show’s as a full post. I’ve checked out my RSS feed and it looks like it’s summarized. But for some odd reason my reader (SAGE) is reading the full article.
At first I thought it could be my template - but I’ve got other sites, using the same template and I’ve had no problems. I’ve also tested that theory here… and the RSS remains the same. So, I thought maybe it was due to a plugin or something. So I went through each and every one and still - my RSS feed is showing the full meal deal.
Not that I mind persey, but that means less eyeballs on the site itself - perhaps less commentary as well…
I’m not sure.
I went through WP’s support tickets and I’ve not found an answer yet. Anyone else showing my feed as a full article and not a summary… or is it showing as a summary and it’s my Feedreader that’s coughing up the whole thing?
Has anyone had a problem like this themselves? Is there a solution that I missed?
