Scam Alert Update on Joel Comm offer

Scams No Comments »

Joel CommWell, I still think the way Joel originally did this offer was not the right way to do it.  Now he’s taking a step back and correcting the big mess-up with the Adsense Secrets 4 ebook offer.  You have to hand it to Joel for realizing it and making the changes.  You can read more about what happened and what Joel is doing over at John Chow’s site (where I’d originally heard about the offer for Joel’s ebook).

Doing what Joel is doing, I think sets him apart from those affiliate marketers who are out just to screw us over.  I don’t know if that was an initial tactic to hide the recurring billing - or just an oversight on Joel’s part.  But coming back - admitting that it wasn’t the right way to do things and now making changes - offering 2 package deals and then to top it off - DONATING to Hearts and Hands over the next two weeks - that is awesome.

“For two weeks, starting on April 20, 2008, I will be donating 100% of the profits from direct sales of AdSense Secrets 4 to a very worthy organization, Hearts and Hands International”

You can read what Joel has to say about what happened with his ebook - and what he plans on doing to correct the screw up.  Click here to read what Joel has to say.

Whoa Nelly… Joel Comm scam alert!

Everyday BS, Scams 5 Comments »

Wow, this morning as I was reading my usual round of bloggy goodness I read an article by Mark over at 45n5 about the latest buzz going around the Internet - the Joel Comm: Adsense Secrets 4. I had seen a link to it from John Chow’s site and I went there to check it out. It really seemed like a steal of a deal for $9.95 and I thought that it would definitely be in my budget to buy… but when I clicked to buy it asked for my credit card - and I’m not overly comfortable doing that (my choice is PayPal…) but whatever. I got up and walked away to think about it and was thinking today I’d put in an order.

But hold up what’s this?? Mark found a very interesting line of text on the site - where you’ll be putting in $29 a month recurring until you cancel for his membership… ahhhh - that’s the catch 22. Cheap book, sign up and hopefully no one will notice the recurring billing and Joel makes more money.

That is really scuzzy.

When I went to pay the other day - it was for the ebook. I honestly didn’t see anything about the $29 recurring fee. Seriously - I’m not dumb and I can read… and I didn’t see that anywhere. Obviously I missed what Mark found.

So check out what Mark thinks of this tactic and take a listen to his latest video.
