Super Affiliat Mindset and the Black Amex CardWe’re all hoping that things work out for us in affiliate marketing - or why would we even bother.  Hoping that the ideas we’re trying out on the interent - that one… just one will stick and you’ll know what you’ve done to make it stick and then repeat it and start making some money.  Probably wouldn’t say no to serious money… right?

Well by way of ShoeMoney I came across the site Super Affiliate Mindset.   He’s one of those fella’s that has made good money working as an affiliate marketer.  This is what he mentions on his site:

I won’t bludgeon you with yearly membership fee or what it takes to qualify for a black card, although I can tell you spending $1000s a day on pay-per-click advertising helps!

Could that be a tip to making things work online - working the PPC angle?  Something I’ve only dabbled in… and it’s not like I’ve got thousands to throw at it.  Maybe I need to start researching and start small - and see where it goes.  Maybe just take it all in and start reading his blog :)

Breaking Away

Everyday BS, My Websites, NoteWorthy 2 Comments »

Well, rambling along about my Fan Site - I’ve been using a poll script from neomyz.com and I love it.  It’s got the dynamics that I want, and today I maxed out on views.  Since I’m using the free version  and the max views with a free version is 100 a day.  I’ve topped that!  I’m totally excited!

Why?

Because that’s popularity!!!

I’m not looking into buying a subscription yet, although it’s really reasonable for $29.95 a year for 1000 views a day.  But this is only my first over 100 a day - if I get a couple more days of this, then I’ll definitely be buying into the next level.

I’m really happy that it’s popular… and sad that my poll isn’t working today… LOL.  Yes, I’m weird.

I’m usually all for the free stuff - why pay when I can get it for free.  That’s usually how I try to do it online, because it can get really expensive - quickly… and well, I don’t have the funds to cover that sort of spending spree.   But I’ve been impressed by the look of NeoMyz.com and how it works and I’ve not come across a poll that compares.

They also have a RSS reader and some online games - if you’re interested.

So there you go… I’m breaking away from my tightwad ways and might just pay for something product-wise online :)

Freelance Hourly Rate Calculator

NoteWorthy, Wish I'd Thought of That No Comments »

As an affiliate marketer with a penchant for freelance work when it comes my way I thought this was a pretty snazzy freelance hourly rate calculator from FreelanceSwitch.  I have been wondering what it would take for me to make some extra money and pay some bills.  The calculator asked me questions I’d not even thought about and put it all into action to give me an “ideal” wage - where I could save some money and they also gave the option of the “break-even” rate I would charge - that in itself is rather interesting.  Like a gauge to know how low you can go without worrying if you’re not going to make it.

The base rate I came out with was $36/hour.  So if I were ever to consider working full time on this I would have to make that an hour - for the number of hours I wanted to work/days per week/holidays/etc.  It was honestly a complete wake up call - either I would need to work way more or reduce my debts or expenses… or just stick to what I’m doing and look at my affiliate marketing as surplus - an additional part-time job :)

Which I’m happy doing right now.

Check out the calculator, where do you see yourself?  Freelancing anytime soon?
