I really am not sure if link exchange programs work anymore. Honestly.
I am currently enrolled with Link Metro, and I’m not sure that I’m really enjoying it much. A LOT of the sites that want to link with this one (I used my BuildingMyEmpire.com website for the test-run) aren’t in the “niche” I have here. So links with them would be futile.
I’ve also found that the sites that seem to be “quality” either have a really bad looking website, or I’m stuck on page 16 of some generated software program for link exchanges. Not a good choice either. I have added several sites to my links page - but more in attempt to see if the links would help my PR. But when I’m exchanging links with a site that has 100 links to a page - there’s little PR to go around. I think if anything I’m giving away my good PR to a site that really doesn’t give a crap about quality - even if they’re in the niche/subject matter that would work with this site.
Do I recommend LinkMetro? Perhaps if you’re starting out… but overall I think the link exchange days are severely limited and sites like this take advantage of people new to the Internet who think that they NEED links and it doesn’t matter from where they get them. I’m just not enjoying going through all those link exchange requests and trying to sort out what goes where - they’ve got the “gold” edition that will do that sort of thing automatically - but I don’t want to pay for this program. I’m sooo cheap!
I will be cancelling my subscription with them. I will be removing the links that I’ve added from them (unless I think they’re worth keeping around) and stick with QUALITY sites - even if they don’t exchange with me, at least I’m giving you an opportunity to see something that I think is worthwhile or cool.

I think over the last few entries in this blog, it’s been a bummer of a trip. I’ve not really meant it to be that way - it was just the way I felt at the time if you will. I guess frustration had set in and I’m totally not really happy with the way Google Adsense has been working on my sites, bummed about the lack of traffic to a few of my sites. Not this one mind you - I’m totally lovin’ you guys who come by regularly… *kisses*. But I will admit I was in a bit of a funk.
I’ve come to realize that Google is a big player in the blogosphere/website world. I’ve come to realize that it doesn’t really perform very well on my sites. That may be in part to the fact that I don’t have tons of traffic yet coming into some of those sites and that will obviously be detrimental to clicks… d’uh - no brainer there. But I’m trying to rack up my $100 dollars from them before I switch over to something else… maybe back to AdBrite or CrispAds - I need to find a quality CPC engine. Because even though Google hasn’t been raking in the bucks - I’ve consistantly made “something” with them - while my CPA campaigns have been rather “few and far between” in sales. When I make a sale… I do a little jig because I make more in one sale than I do for a whole month with my CPC friend Google. Again that is partly because of the lack of traffic.
So what do I have to do - get more traffic - and I “want” to do it organically - through real search engine results or people who search because they really want to read about what I have to say. Makes sense right? I have tried buying my traffic for a few sites, and honestly I’ve had zero return on my investments. The only cool thing I’ve had happen when I’ve bought traffic - is people LOVE the free stuff. They’ll sign up, and then go away. I never see them again - get the free stuff and move on. I do it too - I don’t blame them. But it’s frustrating. I know now that I need to make a couple of my sites “sticky”. Now to find that “sticky” stuff to make them come back over and over - until, lets say that they finally buy something.
I’ve heard that a prospective buy has to view the item 6 times before they actually make the purchase.
Is that true? It’s starting to look that way for some of my sites.
So I’m going to keep plugging away at my sites, adding the content / products daily if possible. See where it takes me and hopefully this month I have a fabulous Google Adsense experience and I can make my $100 (which is something like $40 dollars away… ) and start trying out other CPC engines that have a lower payout rate.
Later gators!

I’ve bought more traffic for 2 of my sites. One site is purely free - I’ve just put some ads on it for my revenue - and so far it’s not been so bad - but it could be A LOT better. I’m still sitting at $2.15 for google Adsense for this month - and Google is sitting on 6 sites? (I have to double check that). Mind you the sites aren’t getting much traffic - so I’m crossing my fingers that the next couple of months get better.
My Electronics Site #1(ID:MBB1) is to get 10,000 US Visitors to it within 60 days. From this selection of traffic I am getting 2 - 5 clicks a day, but have yet to make a sale.
My Entertainment Site #2(ID:RICH1) is a free site - yes I said free. It’s just a hobby site I guess - not really sure how I can monetize it apart from having some ads on it. I’ve done that and I’ve bought $2 worth of traffic - which is 1000 visitors (untargeted) - which is just fine for this site - and out of that I got 5 signups. So with the “success” of that I’ve bought $9 worth of traffic which is 5,000 visitors (untargeted) and we’ll see how it goes. I’m basically trying to build up a “community” of regulars. I have yet to see any real movement on this site in regards to that. But I’ll wait and see… and try to think of ways to monetize the site without upsetting those already subscribed to it.
With these sites I’m using 2 different traffic generators. For the Electronics site I’m using BlazingTraffic.com and so far they’ve provided me with a slow and steady stream of traffic and a few clickthroughs. Which is more than I can say for traffictaxi.net for this sort of site.
With my Entertainment site I’m using sitetraffix.com and so far the results have been pretty good - I’m not sure if its the FREE offer I have or if the traffic is somewhat interested in my site. I’ll have to see. But I’m happy with the 5 signups out of 1000 through there… and now to see how the 5000 converts.

For the past couple of days I’ve busted my butt getting more products done for my Electronics site - so I’m ahead of the game when I take my holidays this weekend. I can say that so far I’m very impressed with the way WordPress handles all the information - and the fact that it is easy to manipulate…. (for the non-programming types like me).
I hope to drive some traffic to it by listing it at some directories that I’ve come across so far. I’m still in search for some good directories… anyone know of some good ones?
