Seriously… things are just in a jumble right now. I contacted NameCheap - my new domain name host - and so far they have been more than awesome. In contacting NameCheap about transferring domains from RegisterFly. RegisterFly hasn’t been cooperative at all… and now I’m missing some EPP code to transfer. Which RegisterFly was supposed to do automatically.
Anyway - got a great response from NameCheap support - but I’m still at a loss as to how to get that code from Registerfly to Namecheap. So I’m off to do some more investigating. But this is ultimately the most frustrating thing I’ve come up against in a long time. GAH! Has anyone else had domains at Registerfly and haven’t had luck transferring them lately?
Other than that - I had a super lazy “I’m away from the computer” weekend and I really, really needed that. Maybe tonight I’ll do a little more computer stuff with my PF2007 site and start adding more content to it… since it appears I have just a week left to get it all done before the end of the month deadline I gave to myself.
Also… on a totally cool note - my Amazon stores are doing much better than I thought. Not a crazy amount of sales, but this month Amazon is kicking ass as far ass sales go in my neck of the woods. Whoohoo. I’m thinking I might need to expand on that a bit and see if I can start getting more visitors/sites/sales up and rolling with Amazon. My small tip to those of you out there wanting to try Amazon out - AVOID CDs and Books for selling (unless it’s in combination with other products or you’ve got an ass load of traffic)… because the payouts are so low. Go for products that will give you a little more back when you sell… bigger items - more payout - makes sense right?!
… and I also have to say THANK YOU BRIAN for that really awesome writeup you did. I totally appreciate it… so again thanks

… ah Registerfly.com - my nemesis. Incase you’ve not had a chance to read about it - check it out.
I’ve been wrestling with them since I’ve heard what had happened… and currently I’ve got quite a few domains still with them. I’m TRYING to get them to give them up - transfer the sons of bitches now MOFOs… and what do I get. NOTHING. I’m getting error messages from my other Registrar that I’m hoping to get my domains to. So I’ve sent them a support question that I’m hoping they’ll be able to answer… since Registerfly is not helping in any way shape or form - I’m figuring that I’m going to end up losing those domains.
In a way I’m sad, because some of them I’ve worked on for a bit and they’re looking alright. Others - I should just let go of… but I haven’t because I find letting go so damn hard. So really, if I’m not able to transfer - it’s out of my hands and I kiss them all goodbye.
So very frustrating!

After reading about the domain name debaucle over at Registerfly, I realized that I still have way too many domains with them - too many to leave me feeling comfortable with the whole thing. I might end up having to use my credit card to transfer the lot over to NameCheap. Something I wasn’t ever planning on doing, but at this rate - I’m not going to have enough in my PayPal account to cover all of them. (Yes, being a domain name buying addict a while back has left me in a bit of a jam). But I’m thinking once this is all done - I’ll be rid of Registerfly and all this ICANN mess.
I was pretty pleased with myself though last night. I’ve managed to get a few more pages up on my site (PF2007). They’re no where near complete mind you, but it’s definitely a start and I’m hoping to find more content for the pages and get things moving along. Right now I’m trying to concentrate on the affiliate programs I am currently listed with and then expand from there. Now this is going against the whole - stick with what I have - stick with the few that work and see more money come in rather than be spattered on too many affiliate programs and where I never see any cheques at all. I’m looking at (hopefully) getting more traffic to the site because it has a varied theme throughout. Niches within the site… does that make sense? It’s just a variation on what I have been doing - mostly blogs… and since that hasn’t really panned out so far, I thought I’d try a different angle. See where it takes me. Maybe take what I’ve done and put into a blog format for the next site. Variation… I’m hoping will let me see what works - and expand on it to make it profitable.
The way I’m doing PF2007 will take me a bit more time, but I hope that taking the time now will pay off later on down the road.
Testing… Testing….
… is this thing on?

Incase you have some domains with Registerfly.com you might want to start transferring those out of there ASAP. I found this over at BoogyBonBon and it’s an interesting read - since I’ve got quite a few domains with them. That I now have to get transferred. I knew Registerfly wasn’t doing well, and I’d started transferring a while ago… now I’m going to have to step it up.
