About Me
Well it’s September 24, 2007 and I decided today would be the day that I launched my new layout for this site. With the new launch I figured I’d better get my butt in gear and write a new “about me” page.
I have to admit that not much has changed since I last wrote here - or for that matter when I first wrote here back in June 2005. It’s been quite the wild affiliate marketing ride and I’m still trying to figure out how I can reach a level of success I can be happy with.
I work online during the day at my day job and as an affiliate marketer by night… or afternoon… or a spare five minutes a day. I am married and we have a happy little family. The affiliate marketing profession for me started out as a hobby I enjoyed, where there was the potential to make money. I will admit that I was sucked into quite a few areas of the Internet that I had little interest in, but there was always that promise of making money.
Making money was a big motivator and still is, to try the affiliate marketing angle - I mean I didn’t need to buy anything, I sold other peoples products. It seemed easy enough. I soon found that it wasn’t so easy - there was a lot of work involved… and you could say that it took till around now for me to realize that I should work at my affiliate marketing with what I enjoy - what topics peak my fancy and that I’d be interested in. No matter what you could “potentially” make with a niche site - you have to be interested in it enough to see it through, and that can take years. Unfortunately this affiliate marketing isn’t an overnight thing. A total bummer! LOL. But I’m really enjoying my online education (of sorts) and the great people I’ve met along the way… and those I’ve yet to meet - I’m really looking forward to the next 2 years… and the next 2 after that.
I’m hoping that my future endevours will bring more success my way as I learn more about how to market a website, promote products and sell, sell, sell. Now, not to sound negative but I just have to say it… if I don’t reach the goals I’ve set out for myself - I’m not looking at it as failure. I’m looking at it as a place where I learned alot, I learned about business, I’ve learned about working online, I’ve learned when to take a break!
Sometimes I’ve had moments of complete burnout… but I’ve always come back. I love affiliate marketing and everything that comes with it.
