Niche Marketing Journey

Blogosphere Links Comments

Belle from Adventures in Net Marketing has started a new site called Niche Marketing Journey.  This is how Belle explains her new site:

Here at Niche Marketing Journey, I test out a variety of blueprints, reports and e-books, and track my stats and income for each method. My goal is to find out what works, and what doesn’t, because I ALWAYS wonder, “Does it really work?”

I think we’ve all had an encounter or two (or three) with those online ebooks, blueprints, and all that other online hype and now and again the copy is so good that we buy into it.  Hoping that being so cynical about all that stuff… we were wrong and now we’re on our way.  Sometimes we can gleam some great information from some and others are just bombs.

I’m looking to avoid the crappy and maybe in future invest in some of those products - if I know they’ve been reviewed by someone who doesn’t actually have a stake in the sales.

I’m looking forward to reading more, so stop by and say hi and check out what Belle has to say :)

A missed opportunity

Everyday BS Comments

… ever have one of those moments where you know you have a good domain name, but don’t have the theme you’re looking for to pull of a really cool site.  Yeah, that’s me - right now.  I’ve been pondering for a long time if I should bite the bullet and get  the theme that will make the site work.  I’ve been trying to work on making some extra money on top of what I’m already making to purchase that theme.

I think I’ve missed the boat.

Meaning… I’m thinking that I’ve missed my opportunity to get things going before the masses latched onto the idea.

Damn it I hate that when that happens.

*tapping the mic* Is this thing on?

30 Day Contest Comments

Not much has been happening online lately for me - yes, I’ve taken a few days off in the world of affiliate marketing to work on a couple of projects that I’ve got going on.

But not to fear, I’ve been writing down ideas that I have in mind for a couple of affiliate sites and I’m going to see if I can start playing with the mildly-successful boys and girls of affiliate marketing.

I figure I’ve been doing something a bit off kilter - because my revenue isn’t where I would like it to be, and yes I’m comparing myself to YOU.  I guess competition is a good thing right?  But I’m thinking of working towards having a little in-house competition of sorts.

Totally un-original idea and I’m going to make it mine.  ALL MINE!   Here’s the idea:

  • Purchase a domain and get it hosted
  • Pick a niche
  • Create content and affiliate links
  • Your budget is $0 for advertising - hello… bootstrapping!
  • The goal at the end of 30 days is to see a profit
  • The one who has the biggest profit at the end of the 30 days wins something nifty.

I’m hoping to get a few sponsors for the prize pack at the end of the 30 days - so if you have something you’d like to add to the prize pack let me know.  I’ll be adding to the prize pack list as we go… I’m hoping to get this going January 1st, 2008.

A little Adwords Re-cap

Ad Networks, Everyday BS, Link and Traffic Building Comments

Google Adwords LogoAs boring as this is I’m going to talk about… mostly because I just didn’t understand why for the last week I’ve been sitting on the same number of impression for the past week.  Early on I changed the daily spending from my super cheap ways up to an amount that I can just cover.  I’m not a millionaire, but apparently you have to be bringing in a bit of coin to make your marketing campaign take off.

This is starting to bum me out.

So this morning I log in to see if there has been any movement on the campaign I’ve been running - and no nothing has changed impressions/clicks are still at a standstill.  The same amount BUT I now see that I’ve got a link where I can check out what I have to do to increase things for the campaign by 400%.  Of course I’m interested in trying to increase the potential by 400% - who wouldn’t be.

I look at what I’d have to shell out daily to get my 400%.

It’s well out of my budget.

My sad little budget isn’t going to cut it apparently.

I’m now not too sure what I should do next.  Stick with the number I have now - and go no where with impressions or do I put it up a bit more (even though I can’t honestly afford too… and realistically I’m not going to do) .  Man this is just getting a bit frustrating here!

I’m not really sure what I should do next?  Do I start a new campaign?  Do I just keep going with what I have?  I’m just a bit in the dark as what to do next.
