Apparently I’m not the only one who’s felt it time for a blog redesign. First ProBlogger did it and now John Chow has done a big one too. I have been thinking about doing a re-design of Building My Empire and I’m not even sure where to start, but I know that I’m getting a little tired of the look.
Since I love to design - I figure I’d wing it myself and try my hand at making a wordpress template. I’ve been doing a bit of research and it should be nice and painful - just the way I love it. LOL. Not really, but the ideas that are floating through my mind right now will need a bit of luck and good coding. But I’m sure I can put something together… or if worse comes to worse I’ll be using this theme for a while to come.
So I’m figuring it will take a few months before I can get something put together… I’m looking forward to it ![]()

WordPress templating is honestly not that hard. The route I tend to follow is create the design in Photoshop, break it down into a static xhtml/css page. Then use the classic theme (much better than kubrick) to break the site down.
Plus the Template Tags on the Codex is a handy page to keep open - http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags

No problem. Give me a shout if you get stuck at all
We deal with WP sites and templates on a daily basis for client sites as well as my own, so I’m pretty well versed in WP template tags now!
