I hope you don’t me rambling on about the fan site I built, or the fact that I’m being super vague about it. It’s just that I’m really enjoying working on the site and want to share with you what I can about SEO and what I’ve been earning, even though it’s early days… and because it is still early days I don’t want to let the “cat out of the bag” so to speak until I’ve got all the pages up and running and I’m happy with it. Although I have a feeling that I’ll never be truely happy with it and always tweaking it to see what I can do better… but that’s ok. So far I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.
So anyway… I am rambling!
I made over $1 again today with the fansite!
I’m looking forward to kicking a few more keywords into the mix and see where the search engine winds take the site. Still nothing with PR ranking tool - grey… and Alexa is still ignoring me. But I took SarahG’s advice and did a search in Alexa for the site. Hopefully sooner, rather than later the bots will visit and I’ll be seen
I’m thinking at some point I might sell the site - maybe 6 months down the road. Maybe this will make for my first flip. Or I might just keep carrying on with it, because I enjoy it… oooh, it’s nice to have options!

Hi Empress,
Why would you sell the site? If it brings in a dollar or two a day, that’s consistent money in your pocket.
I have a site which brings in a consistent $1 to $3 a day. Nothing great, but it gets me an adsense cheque every couple of months. I wouldn’t consider selling it ever. Better a constant stream of income than a one off.

Your PR toolbar will stay grey until the next PR update which is 2-3 months I think. I’ve just moved my blog to another domain and despite everything redirected the PR is still grey on the new domain. So nothing to worry about, just have a patience

Stu - I love it when you tell me like it is
Honestly it was just a thought floating through my head at that the time I wrote the article. I was thinking of one day selling it. Now that I think about what you said, yes it’s money in my pocket and I actually rather enjoy writing on the fan site. Why would I sell it? I just don’t know if I could see myself doing it long term. I guess the blog is rather new - I’m loving writing for it - so I’m keeping it… but we’ll see if it takes off or tanks
Then that might more of a sell the site option.
SarahG - thanks for letting me know. I actually haven’t come across a greyed out bar for so long - usually the zero pagerank - white bar shows up.. and I know eventually I’ll be picked up next PR round. But this was sort of weirding me out. I’m glad I’m not the only one… and I’m LEARNING to be more patient
