Working on CSS

Adult Content, My Websites Add comments

I’ve spent a bit of time the past couple of days trying to get more into the world of CSS. I knew about the “basics” and that was all good. But I really wanted to set about tweaking these basics to see if I could make the site look more like how I wanted - and if I ever wanted to change things up … it would be easier in CSS, which I was really trying to do for the site.

So far, so good I think. I really need to fill the site now with a bit of content but the main page is really coming together (thank god!) and I’m still hoping to have it completed by the end of the month. I want to see a little more success with this sort of site than I have in the time that I’ve had the other sites (of that adult nature) up and running. With occassional sales, I know that there is money to be made. I also know it’s a pain in the ass to rank well in this area. Competition is crazy - and I’m thinking I’m a bit crazy to do it too. But I’m also thinking if I could even get a small piece of that pie in the sky - I’m well on my way.

So back to learning more about CSS and all that good stuff.

I’ve tried getting more into using CSS lately and have started using some absoluted positioned divs via css to create some nice effects.

Once you know what you are doing it can be very powerful, as the CSS Zen Garden shows, but its just a case of learning how.

I totally love looking at the CSS Zen Garden site. It’s really quite amazing what some people have been able to do with CSS - and I’m “hoping” to become more efficient in it, to the point where I can understand it better and get out of using tables for my website designs.

Now to go find out what an absolute div can do for me :)

If you love the CSS Zen website, you ought to check out their book, The Zen of of CSS Design. I also highly recommend Eric Meyer’s CSS: The Definitive Guide for anybody who wants to learn more about CSS.

I’m definitely going to have to check out Eric’s book. Any help with CSS is very much appreciated… since starting at the beginning, is a good thing for me :)
